  • People are not born with all the intelligence they ever have.
  • Intelligence can be learned throughout life.
  • There are at least seven different forms (or ways) of intelligence (as defined by Gardner).

Naturalistic Intelligence

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

  • A person with Naturalistic Intelligence loves everything that is related to Nature.
  • More of a abstract relation than rational. May or may not be logical.
  • This intelligence is a unique example of emotional quotient in the intelligence and that the intelligence is not entirely rational.
  • A naturalist is a very good observer, a more content and compose person and normally lives a more stress free life.
  • A naturalist loves greenery, animal, sunrises, rains and wonders everything that nature has.
  • Occupations which requires high level of naturalistic intelligence include, ecologists, biologists, taxonomists, agriculturists astronomers etc.

Logical Intelligence

Logic takes care of itself; all we have to do is to look and see how it does it.

Musical Intelligence

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

  • A musical person has ability to distinguish the peculiarity of the various notes of the sound.
  • A prominent musically intelligent person is able to grasp all kinds of melodies and has ability to compose, transform, premeditate the expressions into music.
  • In many cases, a musical intelligence complements other activities like reading, relaxing, cooking etc. Some people find themselves more focused to their work when are exposed to melodies while doing their activities.
  • A musical intelligence is also known as Rhythmic Intelligence.

Spatial Intelligence

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

  • The Spatial Intelligence expedites the optical property of human body.
  • This intelligence reveals what falls on our retina into "what we see". The spatial intelligence enables a person to understand an optical observation into the terms of its colour, position, speed, distance and its apparent properties like weight and size.
  • This intelligence is very important in sports (like cricket where you need to know the position and speed of ball), car driving (where you need to know the width of the road and distance of nearby car), painting (where you need to know the positioning of colours), Architecture (where you need to know how shapes fit into each other) etc.

Linguistic Intelligence

Logic and mathematics are nothing but specialised linguistic structures.

  • This intelligence enables a person to understand words and express it in the terms of its components like emotions and logics. As an example a person with high linguistic intelligence can understand well what a poet, philosopher or a scientist is trying to say and can also respond well accordingly.
  • The person blessed with this intelligence has high communication skills through both verbal and writing. This person has well control on language, has good vocabulary, learns languages quickly and uses the correct grammar.
  • As most of the learning comes through language, this skill is very important for all kinds of success in life.

Kinesthetic Intelligence

He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.

-Friedrich Neitzsche

  • Its is the ability to express or do things by involving the whole body.
  • A kinesthetically good person has great control over the body. The brain instructions are well followed by the body muscles with more preciseness.
  • This intelligence is required in the areas where the body dynamics are required in surplus.
  • This kind of person can be a good dancer, athlete, painter, sculpture, magician etc.

Interpersonal Intelligence

Empathy and social skills are the emotional part of the interpersonal intelligence. That's why they look alike.

-Daniel Goleman

  • These people are able to blend themselves with others through empathy, friendship or personal relationships (lovers, siblings etc.).
  • Such people are socially very active and are well recognized by others. They are extrovert and others may feel less hesitation while discussing there personal, professional or social problems with them.
  • Such people are presentable and carry good welcoming persona with them.
  • A person with good interpersonal intelligence can be a preacher, religious guru, politician, teacher, sociologist, sales and marketing person, psychotherapist, anchor, presenter.

Intrapersonal Intelligence

There is no respect for others without humility in one's self.

  • These kind of people are able to analyse themselves very well. They can introspect themselves and understand their weakness and capabilities very well.
  • A person with good intrapersonal intelligence tries to face challenge by his/her own skills and wants to improvise it to be more perfect.
  • Such people are well aware of their moods, temperaments, intentions and desires.
  • These people are self-disciplined, self-esteemed and self understanding.
  • These people are self centric and goal oriented. They are also very emotional and they have capability to convert their failures into their motivations.
  • They are also intuitive and capable of deep contemplations. Suitable occupations include counsellors, theologists, autobiographers, creative entrepreneurs, inventor, critics or scholars.
